The Fish Market Assessment in Jubaland was conducted in Kismayo Town, covering Alanley Market, Dalxiiska Market, and Qudhaca Looska Market, from 11 November 2024 to 11 March 2025, for the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy, Jubaland State of Somalia. It aimed to analyze fish market systems, supply and demand dynamics, pricing trends, and structural constraints affecting fish trade and value chains in Kismayo. The initiative generated evidence to support strategic planning, improve market efficiency, and inform policy and investment decisions to strengthen fisheries commercialization and livelihoods in Jubaland. All activities were implemented using field-based assessments, stakeholder engagement, and market analysis methodologies to ensure accuracy and local relevance, contributing to an improved understanding of market constraints and opportunities that supports sustainable fisheries development in Jubaland.
