About this project

The Market Assessment in Kismayo District was conducted in the Yoontoy and Bula-Garasey communities of Kismayo, Jubaland State of Somalia, from 07 May to 15 July 2025, for Arche noVa. It analyzed local market systems, economic conditions, and livelihood opportunities to inform inclusive, market-based programming for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities, with a particular focus on youth and women. The study generated evidence to support informed decision-making on income-generating activities, vocational skills development, and market-driven interventions that strengthen local economies and resilience in Jubaland. All activities were implemented using participatory and field-based assessment approaches, ensuring accuracy, local relevance, and practical applicability of findings.
