The Four-Week Post-Harvest Loss Prevention Workshop for Fisheries Cooperatives was implemented in Kismayo City, Jubaland State of Somalia, from 05 September to 03 October 2024, for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Somalia. It aimed to strengthen the technical capacity of fisheries cooperatives to reduce post-harvest fish losses, improve hygiene and handling practices, and enhance product quality along the fisheries value chain. The initiative focused on equipping cooperative members with practical skills, tools, and knowledge to minimize spoilage, improve food safety, and increase income opportunities through better post-harvest management. All activities were delivered using participatory, practical, and field-based training approaches to ensure strong knowledge retention and immediate application, contributing to improved post-harvest management, enhanced fish quality, and increased resilience of fisheries cooperatives in Jubaland.
